SEAGULLS SET TO FEAST! Brighton ready to BATTER sorry Hammers at the Amex

West Ham are in DEEP trouble and a trip to Brighton is the last thing they need. The Seagulls are flying while the Hammers are sinking like a stone. This could get UGLY.

West Ham are heading to the seaside - and they might need a life jacket

Right then, let's get one thing straight. If you're a West Ham fan reading this, I'd advise you to look away now. Because Sunday's trip to the Amex Stadium has DISASTER written all over it.

Brighton, sitting pretty in 7th place with 22 points, are welcoming a West Ham side who are languishing in 18th. That's the RELEGATION ZONE, folks. And the way the Hammers have been playing, they look like permanent residents.

Nuno Espirito Santo's boys have won just THREE games all season. Three! They've shipped 28 goals - the third-worst defensive record in the entire league. And get this - they haven't kept a clean sheet in their last ELEVEN matches. Not one. Absolutely shocking.

Brighton are wounded - and that makes them DANGEROUS

Now, Fabian Hurzeler's Seagulls aren't exactly in perfect shape either. They lost 4-3 at home to Aston Villa on Wednesday in one of the maddest games you'll ever see. Raced into a two-goal lead, looked comfortable, then completely fell apart.

But here's the thing - Brighton scored THREE against a Villa side who just beat Arsenal. They create chances for fun. Danny Welbeck has bagged seven goals this season and the lad just keeps delivering. At 34, he's running around like a man possessed.

Their home form has been SENSATIONAL too. Ten games unbeaten at the Amex before that Villa defeat. And against West Ham? Brighton have won SEVEN of the last 16 meetings. The Hammers have won just ONE. That's a stat that should terrify anyone with claret and blue blood.

Callum Wilson vs the Brighton defence - who blinks first?

West Ham aren't completely toothless, mind you. Callum Wilson has been finding the net and Jarrod Bowen remains a threat on the counter. They scraped a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Thursday, with Soungoutou Magassa popping up late to rescue a point.

But let's be honest - that was Manchester United, who couldn't beat a carpet. Brighton are a different proposition altogether. They press high, they move the ball quickly, and they'll punish every single mistake.

And West Ham make A LOT of mistakes.

The relegation battle is REAL

This is where it gets serious for the Hammers. They're sitting in 18th with just 12 points. Burnley below them have 10. Wolves are ROCK BOTTOM with a pathetic 2 points.

A defeat on Sunday and West Ham could be looking at a very, very long winter. The natives are already restless at the London Stadium. Another hammering - and this could easily be a hammering - might push things to breaking point.

Nuno needs a reaction. He needs fight. He needs his players to show they actually care about the shirt. Because right now? It looks like half of them have already given up.

Prediction: Brighton are going to RUN RIOT

I'm calling it now. Brighton win this comfortably. Welbeck to score, the Seagulls to create chance after chance, and West Ham to look like the sorry, disorganised rabble they've been all season.

The only question is how many Brighton stick past Alphonse Areola. Three? Four? Could be more if West Ham switch off like they usually do.

Brighton 3-1 West Ham. And honestly? That might be generous to the Hammers.

Get your brollies out, West Ham fans. It's going to rain goals - just not at the end you want.
